i use gdrive services for storing all my media for plex etc. Google announced a year or two ago that their "unlimited" plans (what I have) are being removed/rebranded and they will be enforcing these changes in years to come. My account is finally been given this warning as with many other people so I'll have to look elsewhere for my storage needs. Basically we're all receiving this if you want to read about it.

I am currently looking at a new plan which is $155 a month. For reference, the unlimited gdrive suite was $15 a month. This brings my total costs for servers/etc to run Plex up to $280 a month assuming I get DropBox and start moving everything over. This almost doubles my monthly expense and I'm not happy about it.

I have set up a little page here donate.wishlah.net where anyone can donate monthly if they want to help with these expenses. If I receive enough to cover the difference ($155) then i'll go ahead and purchase that and start the tedious migration process. If not, then by September the 16th my existing 105TB of data on gdrive will be made "read only" by Google meaning no new stuff will be added to Plex/elsewhere. Then a time after that, it will probably all be deleted.

I also might use this opportunity to look into using Jellyfin instead of Plex - assuming I still have storage - but if I do that I won't disable Plex for a while as I know some users use Plex only and are not so comfortable with swapping.

I am probably going to go ahead and purchase the DropBox plan on the assumption that I receive enough subs to cover the cost because I need to start migrating ASAP if this plan is to go ahead. If I don't raise enough funds though then i'll refund anyone who's already subbed and cop the loss for the month.
